MAHABALI at CRESCENT.
A part of God’s own country was brought to CRESCENT at the morning ‘s assembly, where celebrants were in their traditional White and Gold outfits.
The celebrants of class XI and TOPAZ HOUSE organised the programme in the form of a conversation between a Malayalee and a Crescentian, where the latter wanted to know the significance of ONAM.
The story of Onam was enacted reliving the past with characters who resembled and were made up to enact the roles of Vishnu, Mahabali, courtiers and the like.
Through the story, the reason for the death of Mahabali – the most loved king and his request to visit his beloved people for a day, were depicted effectively in acton.
The tradition and Culture of Kerala was brought alive in the form of the Boat race, martial arts, and dance, which looked so realistic due to the whole hearted effort put in.
The highlight of the programme was the tribute to the lives that were lost at WAYANAD, in the form of a highly emotional dance choreographed by the students of the Matric Board.
Every emotion like joy, sorrow, camaraderie and so on was depicted with the warm underlying theme of UNITY irrespective of the manifold differences.
Naturally when the people of Kerala are so united, the people of all regions feel like adopting, emulating and celebrating this festival in a grand manner like the CRESCENTIANS.
